go pack go

Oh, I almost forgot! Ben and I got Packer tickets for the Lions game on the 28th of this month. I am SO excited, as I've never been to a game at Lambeau! And, they are awesome tickets – 2nd row endzone!!! Lambeau Leap anyone? Yes, please!

We are going to go plenty early to tailgate/bar hop too. We have to get the FULL experience! ;)

playing ketchup

Or catch up, but ketchup was a catchier title...

Wow! I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I've written!

Honestly, not a whole lot new to share. Ben and I spent Thanksgiving with his family and then he headed back up north for a second weekend of deer hunting. My sister-in-law, Jana, and I went shopping on Black Friday, but not until lunch time because neither of us wanted to deal with the crowds. Even when we went the lines were ridiculous and wrapped halfway around the stores! We survived though and got some good stuff, had a nice lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings and got my Christmas tree decorated!

Saturday I went to a lovely dinner at Red Lobster with my good friends Nikki and Granger. After that we did some bowling and had a few drinks downtown River Falls.

Sunday was a relaxing day of football and not much else. :)

Nothing exciting to report this week. Ben's dad is staying with us through the weekend so they can hunt together. I have no major plans and that's okay with me. I could use a nice relaxing weekend at home.

This has been a pretty uneventful week (hence the lack of posts), so I thought I'd start a list of Things I'm looking forward to:

1. Hanging out with the girls this weekend (and probably next weekend too since Ben will be up north hunting).
2. Decorating for Christmas (and yes I will probably do it before Thanksgiving)!
3. Thanksgiving Lunch/Dinner – yum!
4. Christmas – not so much for the presents, but for the fact I get to go home and see my family and friends. I don't get to Oshkosh very often anymore.
5. The Pure Romance party Jana and I are hosting in January.
6. Getting pregnant...whenever that may be. :)

Things I'm not looking forward to:
1. Ben leaving for two full weekends. :(

Pinz's Birthday

Here are a couple of pics from Pinz's birthday party in Wisconsin Rapids. We all had a great time! Neither of them really give you the full effect of my haircut since it's shorter in the back, but you get the idea.

The Three Musketeers glammin' it up with our fake eyelashes.

The birthday girl and our "secret shot."

meatballs

I know, you're probably wondering why I'm writing a post about meatballs, but I made the best ones last night and had to share. Trying to be healthful, I picked up some Jennie-O ground turkey (the Italian seasoned kind to go with my spaghetti). I've never made anything with ground turkey before but I know it's healthier than ground beef so I thought I'd give it a chance. I threw it together with one bunch of green onions chopped, 3 cloves of pressed garlic, a cup of seasoned breadcrumbs, a couple of small handfuls of grated parmesan (1/2 cup I'd guess), and an egg. Mixed that all up and cooked them in a skillet with olive oil (EVOO if you're a Rachael Ray fan). I tried one and was amazed at how good I'd done having no clue how to make a good turkey meatball. The true test though came when Ben tried them...I believe the quote was, "That is one tasty meatball!" Success! And for those of you who know Ben, I had to make them good because he hates spaghetti. I know, who hates spaghetti, right? But, he does. He didn't eat much of the spaghetti, but he did try it and he downed about 6 meatballs so at least he was adequately fed. :)

I will have hair pics soon, but I didn't take any pictures this weekend so I'm waiting for friends to post theirs.

After 5 long weeks of waiting, our wedding pictures are finally online and let me tell you it was well worth the wait! I absolutely LOVE them! Check them out here:

In other news, I chopped my hair off. It's the shortest I've had it in a long time, and I'm still adjusting, but I think it's cute. I should have some pictures to post after this weekend. A couple of friends and I are headed to Wisconsin Rapids for a birthday celebration. It should be a good time!

insurable?

So, Ben and I have been meeting with a guy from Northwestern Mutual about life insurance, retirement funds, etc. We are horrible at saving unless it's for something specific, but we realize the importance of getting this stuff underway sooner rather than later, so we've enlisted help. We started by applying for life insurance which requires a small "physical" – urine and blood samples, blood pressure check, etc. Not a big deal for some, but I've always hated needles. When I was little it took my mom, a doctor, and two nurses to hold me down just to prick my finger. Well, I'm proud to say that I made it through – no tears, no fainting, and no one holding me down! It wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined, which is a huge relief knowing that I'll be doing it quite a bit once I start having babies. :)

Now we wait to see if we are approved...

end of wedding season

We ended the wedding season at Dustin and Kelly Matzke's wedding this weekend. It was a good time as usual and here are a few pics from the day.

Cold Update: Sad to report that I still, yes STILL have a cough. Today is the 3 week mark. As I said in my last post, enough already!!!

enough already!

I've had a cold for two weeks now and I'm sick of it! I guess, on the bright side, it's not the really plugged up and can't breathe kind and I don't look like Rudolph from blowing my nose – just a nasty cough that won't let up. But, nonetheless, I'm ready to be healthy again.

Despite my sickness, Ben and I had a fun weekend. We made the three-hour drive to Granite Falls, Minnesota for a wedding. We only knew a handful of people, and they were all in the wedding party (we were the losers at the table by ourselves), but once the drinks started flowing and the dance started we had a blast! Congrats Mike and Barbie!

One more wedding to go this weekend...

new camera

I finally got a new digital camera! Mine was a bit outdated at 2.0 megapixels and it was time to upgrade. I ended up going with the Canon PowerShot A1000 IS. Now I just need to buy a larger memory card (the one that came with it only hold 9 pictures) and read the manual so I can take advantage of some of its great features and settings.

wedding

Ben and I got married on September 27. It was cloudy and a tad windy, but overall a beautiful day and everything went great! The professional pics won't be ready for another couple of weeks, but here are some shots of the day from our friends.

Toilet Paper game – we had to see who could get the TP off the roll the fastest. Kyra and I lost.
